Day 1 - Tristan's Birthday

Today is Tristan's birthday! We checked into the hospital at 10:00 am and were met by all of our family members. The nurse checked us in and got us settled into our room and then one by one our family members came in to pray and visit with us. We were taken to the O.R. at 12:00 noon. Tristan Asher Hostetter was born by c-section at 12:42 this afternoon. He weighed 4 lbs. and 4 oz., he was 16.5 inches long and has dark brown colored-hair. While Yvette,Yvette's sister (Kim) and I were in the O.R., our family members gathered together in the waiting room from 12-1:00 holding hands, reading scripture, and praying earnestly for us. We could feel the prayers and the presence of the Lord completely surrounding us today - we are so grateful for godly Christian families that has been passed down to us by generations and generations before us. As you can imagine this day was gone before we knew it. Please be in prayer for Yvette as her blood pressure is very high due to a high loss of blood during the c-section. Tanner & I are taking shifts watching and praying over Tristan tonight so Yvette can get some much needed rest. I cannot begin to express the gratitude in our hearts for each and every one of you that has prayed our family to this point. Please continue praying for us in the days ahead.
We love you all. (Written/posted by Trayc Hostetter)

I am praying for you tonight and for in the morning. What wonderful lessons and memories you are creating with Tanner.
As part of your internet family please know that we are willing to lift you up in prayer for anything. Our Father is there to watch over you and we are praying to our Savior. I don't like working the night shift but will do it if it means I can pray for you and your family.

I am praying for all of you. That Yvette got some much needed rest; that you have precious time with sweet Tristan and that you all feel God's arms wrapped around you as many people are sending up prayers on your behalf. What a blessing that you have such a strong Christian family heritage and that your three boys are seeing Jesus in you but thier Aunts, Uncles, grandparents and great grandparents. What a special time for Tanner as a big brother to sit with his Dad and watch and pray over Tristan. I am lifting Tyden up also that his young heart will grasp what it can about being a big brother and the situtaion. Can't wait to see pictures. Please know that I am rejoicing with you and your family with the birth of Tristan. I had been checking your blog off and on yesterday for updates and encouraged everytime that there wasn't one that you were spending time getting to know Tristan. Then when I got home my internet was down and it hasn't been down in 3 years,(whats up with that.) or I would have posted sooner.

Luv you guys

Dear Yvette & Trayc,

On more than one occasion your Mother and I have discussed this "journey" you and Trayc are on with Tristan. And now the most glorious part of that journey has come to fruition with Tristan (officially) joining the family, effective December 3,2007!

One thing's for sure, he really "blew us all away" with that handsome head of dark hair! Mom and I chuckle about that since neither you nor your sister, Kim, or any of the children, i.e., grandchildren, came into this world with a lick of hair! I suppose the Lord was saving all the hair for Mr. Tristan!

Saying just how proud we are of you and Trayc really doesn't suffice. I suppose the real measure of this entire "journey" can be realized in the very fact that you and Trayc elected to complete the ENTIRE JOURNEY with Tristan, despite the overwhelming odds. We are so proud of you two that mere words do not adequately address the love and admiration in our hearts.

Evidently, the Lord in His wisdom has chosen to give Tristan some special time here on earth and for that we are eternally grateful. Though the amount of time he will have here is uncertain, we rest in the fact there will be no shortage of love given to Tristan by you and Trayc, brothers Tanner and Tayden and the rest of the family.

Thank you for being bold in your faith and in your witness. And thank you for saying, "Yes, Lord, we will trust You to see us through."

With all our love,

Mom & Dad
