Day 6 - Relaxing day!

Tristan slept between Trayc and I last night in that we did not have the bassinet here at our house (we had left all the baby stuff at my grandparent's house back in August, not sure if we would bring Tristan home). So, we made him a palate out of Tayden's changing table pad until we could get the bassinet. We took turns watching him all night. He is doing extremely well with the tube feeding, where he was originally at 10 ml in the hospital, he has now increased to 15 ml and has had no "blue spells" since Tuesday. We are still trying to figure things out like how to maintain his body temp. so that he doesn't get too cold, we are used to the hospital warmer being on 24 hrs a day which automatically kept his temp. maintained. We have spent the day just relaxing, catching up on emails, updating our blog with entries/pictures, unpacking from the hospital and taking turns just holding, loving on and praying over Tristan. In our prayer tonight Tanner said, "and Jesus we don't have much to offer to you but we bring Tristan to you and place him at your feet as our offering" and "we thank you for giving us just another wonderful day, day 6, with Tristan". Wow, Tanner's 11 yr. old - just when sometimes you wonder if what we attempt to teach on a daily basis is really sinking in and then he prays like that ... what more could any parent ask for? We are so very, very proud of Tanner for the way he has handled and accepted this entire journey since August 15th. We have known since the beginning that this would be a lot for any 11 yr. old to understand and accept but we have tried and will continue to try and lead, guide and teach him through this time and in the end hope and pray that we have taught him to love, trust and obey Jesus no matter the circumstance and He will bless you more than you can even imagine. Trayc's mom will begin staying with us tonight and take care of Tristan during the night hours so that we can sleep and be prepared and rested for the next day. Please continue to pray for Tristan that we will have another day with him, please pray that we will be able to find an easy way to maintain his body temp., please pray for Trayc's mom as she begins taking care of Tristan tonight and pray for us as a family as we face a new day tomorrow.

How wonderful that you have enjoyed another day with your beautiful son! Every time I look at the picture of Tristan in his Christmas outfit I cannot help but smile-he is adorable. Praying that you all have many, many more days to enjoy together. He is truly a miracle.

When I read Tanner's words I thought "And a young child should lead them" not that he is leading you but I know plenty of adults that can't say something like that. Saying a special prayer for Trayc's mom in addition to continuing to lift your precoius family up to the Lord. What good loving parents you are to all three of your boys and the love of God you are instilling in thier hearts. God knew you would be the perfect family to show Tristan his love for him, as long as he is here with you and I pray that may be many many days.

Praying for your family daily and for Tristan to continue growing and staying strong. He is so precious in the pictures. Bless Tanner's heart, he is growing in a mighty way for an 11 year old boy. The light of the Lord shines through your words about his prayer. He is blessed to be sharing this life journey with you. I pray you rested well last night with that little boy between you. Praising God for Day 7 today and for every day forward. Peace and comfort and much love to you today. Tristan is a miracle!!

Yvette,
This is the first time I have used a 'blog' - everything keeps getting wiped but I am not giving up. Know we have been following your life event and many prayers have been offered for you and your family. The photographs are all so clear - you can 'see the love' ~ you have a beautiful family. Your little angel Tristan is a true miracle. Our prayers will continue, everyday is truly a blessing. With love, Louise (Ritz Carlton, Orlando Therapist)

What a blessing and answer to prayer! We continue to pray for you guys for more time with him and strength as we can imagine what it takes to take care of him and emotionally knowing what can happen at any time. Be brave and strong in the Lord. Keep us posted on your blogg. This is a wonderful testimony.

Wow! I am so happy to know you are doing well and Tristan is enjoying another day with you all. Tanner's prayer made me cry. Children "get it" sometimes alot better than adults do! I will continue to pray.

I have been reading your blog for quite some time, and I just felt compelled to finally write a comment!:)

I'm so thankful that you were able to bring Tristan home, and to have him for 6 days already!

I also wanted to tell you that the first thing that popped into my mind, when you were writing about keeping him warm was a heating pad. I'm not even sure if that is a possibility, but I thought it was worth a try to mention it!

You are in my prayers!

One year ago today. I've never wandered over to your blog until today to meet your Tristan. I frequent many of the other Families of Trisomy 18 babies though. Its like one big praying family online...what a blessing. What a blessing to have little Tristan for so many days. My heart aches for you though as you face Christmas without him this year. He was a sweetie, he reminds me SO much of my own little guy. So many of the Trisomy features make them look like they could be brothers. But they look like themselves too and the rest of their families. Samuel was our first baby and I was amazed when I had our second baby , a daughter , how much of her brother I saw in her. Now that I've had three other children I know that he had a uniquely Trisomy 18 look but he also looked like one of my kids, he had his Daddy's toes, and his sisters knobby knees and hair, he had my long waste and his brothers cheeks. Well I'm totally on a random ramble now so I'll stop. I hope God is very close to you this Christmas.
