Day 17 - Disney at our house

Trayc's mom took her last "night hours" last night. I am so grateful to have had Trayc's mom here at our house for the past 11 nights. We greatly appreciate all the hours of sleep she gave up so that we could sleep and so that she could take care of her new grandson. Trayc's mom left after lunch today, so you know what that means, Trayc and I are on our own for the "night hours", reality begins tonight (ha ha)!!! We spent the day doing things around the house like painting Tayden's room and installing more shelving in his closet - his room was the only thing not finished before Thanksgiving. As promised to Tanner, we celebrated Christmas tonight, but we did it a little different - we brought Disney World's "Mickey's Very Merry Christmas" to our house, bet no one knew that was possible did they? Every December, since Tanner was 4, we would take him to the "MVMC" in Orlando. Obviously not able to make it this year we decided to have our own. We dressed all 3 of the boys in their Mickey shirts (Tristan wore the outfit I bought him Monday night - isn't it cute?), hats, Disney toys, listen to Disney Christmas music and we took lots of pictures - we had it all, including Tayden and Tanner acting like they were in the parade! It was a great night of "Disney" fun. Please pray for Trayc's mom and Grandma as they travel back to Tennessee and pray for their hearts as you can only imagine how hard it was for them to leave Tristan with the future being so uncertain, please pray for Tristan's continued strength and please pray for Trayc and I as we begin taking the day and night hours, please pray for us as we face another new day tomorrow.

Reading each day about Tristan and your family brings joy to my heart...the kind of joy found in this Holy season. May God continue to pour out His blessings on all of you.

I don't know you all and have no personal connection with Trisomy 18, but I have been following your amazing story and praying for you. You all live so fully. What an example you are to those of us with children not suffering from illness. I hold my children tighter and a little bit longer thanks to your reminder of how precious every second is with EACH of our loved ones. No matter if you just gave birth and had complications yourself, Yvette, you are always smiling. Thank you. God bless you and Merry Christmas!

These boys are all so special and adorable. I have so enjoyed your daily updates as I pray for you daily. I always check in on you at the end of my day. God has been so good. I pray tonight is a good night and you are able to get your needed sleep. This baby is such a blessing and oh how he is loved.

You and your family are such a blessing to all of us; you have opened eyes to unconditional love in your family and the Man up above. I wanted to also say, I always add an extra prayer for Tristan's big brothers, they are truly amazing in spirit and love for their little brother. Tanner is way beyond his 11 years, in his love and understanding. Your family deserves every blessing that has come your way. Continued blessings during the Holidays and coming year...

These pictures say it all, Pure Love in it's highest form. Tristan is absolutely precious in his Mickey Mouse outfit!!! And his older brothers are just priceless. What a blessing to come here each morning and find another blessed day is beginning for this little warrior. I am in awe at what the Lord is doing in your family and I just can't get over the pride and joy on Tanners face in each picture. His heart must be bursting. God bless you as you continue to be blessed by this little miracle straight from heaven above. "Day 17", Thank you Lord.

My neighbor/friend is family of the Stanfield's. I logged onto your page from theirs, in fear, but hoping to understand what they will be facing soon.

I was so amazed to learn your special blessing came home, and is doing so well. I can only pray all families traveling this path might know the joys you have.

Your faith and love for God is such an inspiration. As I told Kenzie, only God knows at what point in the discovery and research of Trisomy 18 your children will be. But, because of you and the others who cherish every life from conception, willing to accept whatever time God allows, doctors and researchers can learn more about this illness. Tristan is teaching many and because you allowed him to develop and be born, on God's 'terms', many other children will have a chance to live longer and maybe even be treated while still in the womb!

Tristan, and your whole family, have touched the lives of so many more people in this world than many who live 80 years and more. What a blessing he is!

May God grant you the strength and love needed for the days to come. Thank you for sharing your story with all of 'us'. If we would all spend every day giving thanks for the blessing of life, (as you do) we might not be so shocked and thrown when death comes early to one we love. Many of us take life for granted, forgetting how short it can be. You remind us.

May every Christmas be blessed with love, peace and joy. Thank you for bringing some into my life.
