Day 36 - Night of celebration

Tristan had a very rough night that started around 11:30 pm when his color changed to gray and then to blue, slowly it returned back to normal as we increased the oxygen and then his apnea monitor went off 4 times. He was a little better today but his color did change again, fortunately only once. The excitement for today? We attended a one-month birthday party at the hospital where Tristan was born. As we drove up to the hospital Trayc and I were talking about our drive to the hospital on December 3rd. We were full of such mixed emotions that day. We were excited that we would be holding our little boy within a few hours, we were a little scared as to what the day would hold and we were very unsure as to the future from that day forward, and yet here we were driving up tonight (exactly one month from the day we left the hospital) attending a party for our little boy who is now on Day 36! As we entered the 3rd floor Labor & Delivery tonight our emotions were far different from the day we entered those same doors on December 3rd - this time we were smiling, laughing, so excited about seeing everyone again and absolutely proud to be there showing off our little miracle, Tristan. As the doors opened, approximately 20 nurses were standing at the front singing "Happy Birthday" to Tristan. We were so surprised not to mention absolutely touched! After the song the nurses came up, one-by-one, and hugged all of us and then one of the nurses said, "Would you like us to take you to your room?" Guess where we went? Yes, Room 336, if you read our blog entry on Day 10 titled "Thank you: to our doctors/nurses" then you will completely understand the full meaning of this room. We put on party hats (yes, even Tristan), ate cake, Tanner, Tayden and Tristan had gifts to open from the nurses, we had a sweet time of sharing and then we all joined hands in a circle and one of our nurses closed the celebration with prayer. What a sweet hour and a half it was and what an incredible night, all on behalf of our precious little boy! The Lord has blessed us with so many special people on this journey and the nurses at Baptist South are a huge part of that. Please pray for Tristan's continued strength, please pray for his apnea episodes, please pray for us as we face another new day tomorrow.

To all 3rd Floor L&D nurses: Thank you for making tonight so special for our family! You ALL mean so much to us and we appreciate you supporting us from the moment we entered the doors on December 3rd all the way to the celebration tonight! Thank you for continuing to call us and for checking our blog for daily updates. We will never forget any of you. May the Lord continue to use each one of you to touch the lives of other new mommies.

Hi Yvette and Trayc,

I found your blog through Poppy Joy's which I found through Copeland Farley and have been following your story since October. I am posting today to ask you to pray for another family with a fragile new life. Tricia Lawrenson has CF and gave birth to a baby girl, Gwyneth Rose, on Tuesday at just 24.5 weeks. Their family website is cfhusband.blogspot.com they are believers and like your story, what could have been a tragedy, GOD has made a miracle. Blessings to you both and your 3 miracles.

I could not keep myself from writing you and your family. I too live in Jacksonville, well really Bryceville but it is only about 30min away from Jax. I know the hospital you had Tristan at and it is a wonderful hospital. My OB doctor is the building connected to the hospital. You and Tristan were in very good hands. It is so amazing how the Lord works, I have been reading your blog for quite sometime now and our hearts have been burdened for your family. I have been requesting prayer for all of you every time we have prayer request at our church but I just realized that you live in Jacksonville. The Jaguar picture gave that away. I don't know why I did not figure that out sooner. Anyways our church is going to do a prayer cloth for Tristan this Sunday and I really would like to give it to you. Now I know you have to be very careful because there are a great deal of crazy people out there but I really feel like this is what the Lord would have me to do. If you do not feel comfortable with me bringing it to you I could mail it to you. I guess I could tell you more about me so maybe you could know me a little better. My name is Melissa Scott I'm 29 years old. I am married to a wonderful man named David Scott. We have been married for six years now. We both are in the church and we love our Lord and Saviour with all our heart. My husband is a Sunday School Teacher and the Sunday School Superintendant. Me and my mother are over the teen nights we have at our church. My husband and I have four children, Taylor she is almost 10 (I had her with my first husband that I married when I was 18, of course since I did not do it Gods way we did not make it. He signed his rights up to her and when David and I got married I allowed him to adopt her because that is what she wanted.) then we have Kayleigh she is five, we then had Christian but he was born at 21weeks and he did not make it so he is up in Heaven, and the last is David he is three. I have been in the church all my life, both of my Grandfathers are preachers. I am a stay at home mother and my husband drives a truck for SouthEastern Freight Lines. I am going to go back to school as soon as my son goes to Pre-K. I want to become a Nurse Praticioner. Well if there is anything else you would like to know, please feel free to ask, I do not mind at all. We are praying you all of you and I really think the Lord can work a miracle in Tristan's life. We don't put enough Faith in the Lord anymore, He raised people from the dead, healed bodies that people never thought could be healed, He healed minds from demonic spirits, so He can cure Tristan from Trisomy-18. Tristan could turn out to be an absolute normal child and I believe the Lord can do just that for him. Well I really look forward to talking with you and I really would like to give you this prayer cloth when we do it so however I can give it to you I am fine with it, just as long as you get it. May God bless you and strengthen you. You are doing an absolute wonderful job and I believe the Lord is pouring His strength out on you. Your in our prayers.

Your little miracle has touched so many of us. I continued to be amazed at how ordinary people can bring so much glory to our Lord. Tristian and your family are in my prayers. Happy Birthday Tristian and God Bless!
