New internet friends

After Tristan was diagnosed with Trisomy 18 on August 15th, I was unable to find anyone here locally to communicate with regarding this very rare genetic disorder so I began doing extensive research on the Internet. I started reading story after story, now I know these stories to be called "BLOGS", of couples whose babies were diagnosed with T-18. As I mentioned in my entry dated Oct. 1st, I found Angie Luce's blog and emailed her. Since then we have become very good friends and her friendship has meant more to me that I can even express, I truly believe the Lord ordained the meeting of this friendship. I have been able to share daily with her my thoughts, feelings and experiences and because we are due at the same time we are walking this road together. Because of comments received from other moms on my blog I have now made several other T-18 "Internet friends" and we are now emailing each other, too. We are moms praying for each other and encouraging each other every day. Sure, we are all at different stages in our pregnancy, some are just beginning this journey and some of us are quickly approaching the end, but we are all still moms asking to be prayed for, searching for answers, looking for comfort and seeking the Lord for His guidance as we face the uncertainty of our future and the time we will have with our precious babies. Who would have ever thought the Internet could be used to encourage moms going through a tragedy!!!!

I would ask that you please add the following names of mom's and babies to your daily prayer list as we face the upcoming months, each story can be read by clicking on their link under our family picture:
  • Angie Luce - little girl named "Poppy Joy". Her c-section date is 12/6/07 (poppyjoy.blogspot.com)
  • Kenzie Stanfield - little boy named "Maddox". She is due in Feb. 2008 (thestanfieldjourney.blogspot.com)
  • Kim Summons - little girl named "Mary Grace". She is due in Jan. 2008 (marygracesummons.blogspot.com)

Also, please pray for the following family. They just lost their little boy this past weekend and the service is on Nov. 10th:
  • The Edwards - little boy named "Jonathan". Born and passed away on 11/3/07 (jonathanjarededwards.blogspot.com)

Galatians 6:2 says: "Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ."

Yvette,

A friend sent me to Angie's or Boothe's or Mandy's blog (I can't remember which came first), and here I've been for the last several months.

I don't think I'd ever heard of T-18 until a few months ago. I'm sure there were just as many T-18 diagnoses a few years ago as there are now. Most of us just didn't know about it.

Anyway, I added FOUR blogs of families expecting a T-18 baby on ONE DAY earlier this week.

For some reason, I feel drawn to these blogs. I don't feel drawn to the pain and suffering. But I do feel "lifted up" in some ways, even as I'm lifting up the families whose blogs I am reading.

The grace and faith I read about is amazing. And I know that each of these babies was conceived and lovingly carried in his or her mother's womb as part of God's plan.

I am amazed when I read mother's accounts of how much they treasure the time with their babies, even as they know they likely will not have much time with them this side of heaven. I'm not sure that I'd have the faith and grace to feel the same way.

I ramble. Thanks for sharing your story with us. I hope you'll understand that I'm writing from my heart and forgive me if my human words inadvertantly offend.

Hi Yvette,
I wanted to let you know that I will be praying for you and your family as
you walk this road with so many other families right now. Tristan truly is your 3rd miracle baby and the Lord has His hands all over him. May Gods peace and hope fill you in the days and weeks ahead as you look forward to meeting Tristan on his Birthday. I will be standing with you and all of the other families on this road that too many of you are traveling.

I wanted you to know that I am thinking of you and lifting you up. Our baby girl was born in June with T18 and lived for 12 precious hours. We miss her so much but would not trade the time we had with her for anything. Please visit my blog and you can read our experience.

Yvette, Thanks for "blogging" me. The song by point of grace just came in my mind. "Circle of of friends, we have one Father, in the circle of friends, we share this prayer" Wow - I can't believe the sweet friends I am meeting that are going through this same thing, makes me sad actually - I told another Mom I wish I was the only one. But, since I am not, I am grateful for you. I will give you my e-mail address. I would honored to be a part of that because it will include everyone at the same time, if you do not mind. I will be praying for you and your family. I feel blessed to know you.

Everything Rebecca said is what I am saying now. I work midnights and am often praying for all of your families, off and on through out the night. I have a nephew named Tristan. He is 12 years old. He is our miracle baby.

I have to let you know that I am thankful for coming across your blog as I am currently on the same path. I am not thankful that there are others out there faced w/ the same unpredictable circumstances but feel a sense of comfort as I read that others are where I am at in many ways. I am most thankful for reading your post about The Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep Foundation. It is wonderful that such giving people are out there for families like us in need for such services. I have added your page to my page and will add your family to my prayers as well. I hope that you do not mind.
