That sure is a BIG tree!

In keeping with tradition, we bought our Christmas tree this weekend. In our old house we only had 8 ft. ceilings so we'd buy a 7-8 ft. tree but end up cutting it down to about 6 1/2 -7 ft. in order to fit, but not this year! Now, in our new house, we have 20 ft. ceilings in our living room which meant, finally, we could have a BIG Christmas tree and not have to trim it down, something I have always dreamed of!!!!! Tanner said, "That sure is a BIG tree mommy!". We had so much fun decorating the house and tree this weekend. Although we do not know what the upcoming weeks will hold with Tristan we decorated the house and tree with great excitement and hope that Tristan might be able to come home from the hospital and we could celebrate at least one Christmas with him, here in our home. We have promised Tanner that if Tristan comes home from the hospital we will celebrate "Christmas" as a family every day!!!! Tanner said, "Mommy, you don't have to buy me presents to open every day, Tristan can be our present, as long as I can have at least some to open on Christmas morning." Oh, the sweet, precious hearts and minds of children!

My prayers continue for you here as you get ready to celebrate the birth of baby Tristan and the birth of the One who watches over him every moment. He is in perfect hands and I hope your time with him is sweet and full of joy overflowing. And Tanner's words are so precious. Children are the best gift from God, always. Peace and joy to you today.

What a precious son you have in Tanner! I know he is going to be a source of great comfort to you in the uncertainty of the coming weeks (I know all of your boys are!). I am praying with you that sweet Tristan is able to come home and celebrate Christmas with you.

Yvette,

I have been reading your blog since Nov when I was checking FBC website and saw the information in the Sunday Bulletin. I have not written before now because at 1st I was so overwhelmed with what you and your family are going through and then I wanted to be sure my words and thought were coming from the lord.

My son Steve, better known as Captian A, grew up with you and Trayc at FBC but I am not sure if you remember me.

Anyway the other Wednesday night and Sunday our Pastor was preaching from John 14 and as I read the notes in my Study Bible I thought of you and the other Ladies
who are traveling this road with you. The particular verses I want to share are John 14:26-27 "But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." The Study notes in my bible then says this about verse 27
"The result of the Holy Spirit's work in our lives is deep and lasting grace. Unlike worldly peace, which is usually defined as the absence of conflict, this peace is cofident assurance in any circumstance: with Christ's peace."

This is what I see in your words when I read them so when I read it I automatically thought of you.

I am praying for you and your family as you walk this road God has put before you and why none of us on earth my understand it we know he is in Control.

Two other things I would like to do for you.
1. Put your Family on our church's prayer list.
2. Our women's ministry has started a prayer quilt ministry and I would like to have them do a quilt for you and Tristan, if someone has not already done one for you. These are lap quilts, as people tie the final knots in the quilts they say a prayer for you.

Please email me at prodgers@bellsouth.net.
